Dr Willy Dayan

Dr Dayan received his DDS in 1986 and his diploma in Orthodontics in 1991 both from the University of Toronto.
In addition to his private practice in orthodontics, Dr Dayan is also a clinical instructor of Orthodontics. His teaching expertise lies in areas of: Invisalign Aligner Biomechanics, Esthetic Adult Orthodontic Techniques, and Rehabilitative Orthodontics in preparation for Cosmetic Reconstructive Dentistry, Patient Interviews and Treatment Presentation Skills. He has been a guest lecturer at multiple conventions and meetings worldwide and continues to guest lecture at the Department of Orthodontics in Universities worldwide.
Dr Dayan became an Invisalign provider in the fall of 1999, has treated over 4000 of his own cases and coached over 25,000 ClinChecks on his coaching site. Dr Dayan is a registered speaker for Invisalign and currently teaches orthodontists internationally how to achieve excellent results in the most challenging cases.

Prof PadHRAIG Fleming

Padhraig Fleming is currently Professor, Consultant and DClinDent Program Lead in Orthodontics at the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. Padhraig graduated from Dentistry at Trinity College Dublin with a Gold Medal and First Class Honours before undertaking postgraduate and Consultant training in Orthodontics at the Royal London. He was awarded an MSc with Distinction in 2007, the Membership in Orthodontics and British Orthodontic Society Medal in 2008, FDS (Orth.) from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010 and his PhD in 2013.
He is an Associate Editor of American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the British Dental Journal, the Journal of Dentistry, Orthodontics and Craniofacial research and Progress in Orthodontics and is on the editorial board of numerous other journals. He has published over 120 peer-reviewed papers and has received research awards from the British Orthodontic Society and the B.F. and Helen E. Dewel Award from the American Association of Orthodontists in 2011. He has co-authored two orthodontic textbooks: 'Clinical Cases in Orthodontics' and 'Functional Appliances: Theory and Practice'. He is also an eminent and entertaining speaker.

Dr von Bremen works as an orthodontist and senior consultant in the department of orthodontics, University of Giessen, Germany. She received her orthodontic education from 2000-2003 in a private practice and at the same university department under the chairmanships of Professor Hans Pancherz and Professor Sabine Ruf. Her major research interests include Class II treatment and orthodontic treatment possibilities of children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis or obesity. Dr. von Bremen is an active member of the Angle Society of Europe (ASE) as well as a member of the European Orthodontic Society (EOS), the German Society of Orthodontists (DGKFO), and the German Dental Association (DGZMK). She has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and lectures both nationally and internationally.

Mike Mayhew, DDS, MS, received his dental education at the University of North Carolina with specialty degrees in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. He is board certified in both specialties and operates a dual-specialty practice in Boone and North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Dr Geraldine Moses is a consultant clinical pharmacist who provides the national drug information service for ADA members called Pharma-Advice. PROFESSOR Marie Cornelis
Marie A Cornelis received both her dental degree (1999) and her postgraduate specialist degree in orthodontics (2003) from the University of Louvain, in Brussels. In 2007, she was a Visiting Research scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She defended her PhD about miniplates as temporary skeletal anchorage in Brussels in 2008. In 2010, she finished a 2-year degree in lingual orthodontics at the Université Descartes (Paris). Between 2009 and 2014, she was Assistant Professor at the Department of Orthodontics of the University of Geneva. From 2014 to 2020, she was Associate Professor and Postgraduate Program Director of the Section of Orthodontics, Department of Dentistry, Aarhus University, and in 2015 she became Head of Section. At the same time, she maintained an active orthodontic practice in an interdisciplinary office in Geneva a few days per month. Marie was awarded the WJB Houston Oral Research Award of the European Orthodontic Society in 2008 and the Dewel award as a (co)author of the best clinical paper in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2012 and in 2023. She is an Active Member of the Angle Society of Europe and a full member of the European Board of Orthodontists. In 2021, Marie became Professor and Head of Orthodontics at the Melbourne Dental School. Her research interests are focused on clinical orthodontics, mainly skeletal anchorage, digital workflows and stability/retention.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR PAOLO M. CATTANEO
Paolo M. Cattaneo is an Associate Professor of Research at the Melbourne Dental School, the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is an Honorary Fellow at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, The Royal Children's Hospital, Victoria - Australia, and is Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, Denmark. His research interests focus on dental biomechanics, 3D imaging in orthodontics, and analysis of dento-alveolar structures and their interaction with external mechanical stimuli studied using in-vitro, in-vivo, and in-silico models. At present, he is actively involved in projects dealing with clinical outcome analysis in 3D. He has authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and book chapters.
Paolo M. Cattaneo received his MSc. in Bio-Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnic of Milan, Italy, and his PhD. in Dentistry from Aarhus University, Denmark. He successfully completed The Leadership Development Programme for Head of Departments at the Copenhagen Business School – Executive, Copenhagen, Denmark.

I have been researching aligners via university appointments for the past 5 years. I have collected a large database of cases (15,000 plus) from 15 experienced orthodontists in Australia, New Zealand and the United States to enable independent research into the efficacy of aligners, which is my primary research interest. I was 2021 Milton Sims Visiting Professor, University of Adelaide and in 2022 I was awarded the P Raymond Begg Research Award, Australian Society of Orthodontists.
DR Vicki vlaskalic

Dr Vlaskalic attended the University of Melbourne where she received both her Bachelor of Dental Science and Master of Dental Science degrees. In 1994, she was awarded an ASOFRE research scholarship and spent 2 years at UCLA, with a further 6 years as Assistant Professor and Director of Predoctoral Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific, San Francisco. In 1997, Dr Vlaskalic became co-investigator in the feasibility of the Invisalign appliance, and published the original article in 2000. During her 6 years at Pacific, Dr Vlaskalic obtained her California Dental License (DDS), was instrumental in the introduction of the system throughout the USA, APAC and the Middle East and received various teaching and research awards, including 3 from the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation. Dr Vlaskalic has presented abstracts and papers at prestigious meetings such as the IADR , AAO, WFO and is published in refereed journals. Since returning to Melbourne, she works in orthodontic specialty practice, is a clinical instructor at the University of Melbourne and continues lecturing and consulting world-wide.
DR nour eldin tarraf

Nour finished his BDS at Cairo University with Honors in 2001 followed by an orthodontic residency at Cairo University. He then moved to Sydney where he completed his Masters degree in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney in 2008 with Honors. He works in private practice in Chatswood, Sydney and is involved in research and teaching at the University of Sydney. Nour has a special interest in invisible orthodontic techniques such as lingual orthodontics and Invisalign. He is the past president of the Australasian Society Of Lingual Orthodontics. He is also the first and only Australian to become a Titular member of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics and an Active member of the World Society of Lingual Orthodontics.
Among his special interests are the use of digital technology in orthodontics, early orthodontics and growth modification treatment and he recently completed a PhD on the application of skeletal anchorage in maxillary growth modification for growing children. He has lectured nationally and internationally and has number of scientific publications.
In he’s free time Nour like to spend time with his daughters Hana and Maryam. He loves sport and after years of doing triathlon has taken up the new challenge of Nordic biathlon in the winter.
DR ANNALENE WESTON

Dr Annalene Weston is the Senior Dentolegal Consultant for Dental Protection Australia. A practising dentist, Annalene completed her undergraduate dental degree and vocational training in the UK and worked in NHS and private dentistry before immigrating to Australia. She has worked across three Australian states, in both private and public dentistry, and gained her Masters in Health Law at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Law in 2008.
Annalene was awarded a Fellowship to the American College of Dentistry in 2016 and a Fellowship to the Pierre Fauchard Academy in 2019 in recognition of her strong work in ethics and collegiate support. DR MARK MOORE
Plastic & Craniofacial Surgeon – Head of Cleft and Craniofacial SA
Dr Mark Moore arrived in Adelaide, South Australia in January 1987 to start his role as a Craniofacial Fellow, where he trained with Dr David David and Dr Jim Trott in the previously named South Australian Craniofacial Unit (SACFU). Thirty years later, Mark is still in Adelaide and is now the Head of the Cleft and Craniofacial SA (C&CSA) (formally the Australian Craniofacial Unit).
Born in Timaru, New Zealand, Mark moved to Christchurch where he grew up and attended school. In 1974, Mark was awarded a university scholarship and commenced medical training at the University of Otago and then completed a MB,ChB at the Christchurch Clinical School of the University of Otago Medical School in 1980.
Following this Mark received the Sir Thaddeus McNaughton prize for the top final year student in surgery. Mark then commenced training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Burwood Plastic Surgery Unit in Christchurch, which was founded by Sir William Manchester.
Mark passed his final plastic surgical examination in late 1986, before venturing to Adelaide where his final year of training was completed as a Craniofacial Fellow in 1987. He then spent his second year as a Senior Registrar in Plastic Surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), before commencing as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH), Adelaide and Lyell McEwin Health Service the following year.
In 1988, Mark was awarded his FRACS qualification (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) and was appointed as a Consultant CF Surgeon at SACFU in 1990. Mark continued as a Senior Visiting Craniofacial Surgeon in the renamed Cleft and Craniofacial SA (C&CSA) until 2001. Mark was then appointed Head of Paediatric Plastic Surgery at Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH) until 2008, when he returned to the Cleft and Craniofacial SA (C&CSA) and was appointed Head of Unit in 2017.
Mark is a founding member of the Asia-Pacific Craniofacial Association and the Australia and New Zealand Society of Craniofacial Surgery and is full active member of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery since 1999.
ANNIE HARVEY

Ellen and Sarah are passionate about educating and supporting Allys to provide affirming care for gender diverse young people throughout their health journey.
DR HARRY PERKINS
Dr. Harry Perkins graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2015 has since worked as a general dentist in both rural and metropolitan practices. In 2017, Dr. Perkins joined TAFESA's Advanced Diploma of Oral Hygiene program as a lecturer in cariology and epidemiology.
With a strong interest in forensic science, Dr. Perkins completed an Honours degree in Dental Science and earned a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Odontology in 2019. Currently, Dr. Perkins collaborates with the Forensic Odontology Unit of South Australia, providing valuable assistance to the Coroner of South Australia and SAPOL. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. project focused on the application of 3-D images in dental identification casework, aiming to improve the accuracy and efficiency of dental identification methods.
Within the field of dental associations and forensic science organizations, Dr. Perkins serves as the Chairman of the South Australian Dental Association's Practice Support Committee for 2023/4 and holds a position on the Forensic Odontology Technical Advisory Group for ANZPAA NIFS (Australian and New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency National Institute of Forensic Science). Additionally, Dr. Perkins is an active committee member of the Australian and New Zealand Forensic Science Society (ANZFSS) and served as its president in 2023.
In late 2022, Dr. Perkins assumed the role of Coordinator of the Community Outreach Dental Program at the University of Adelaide. In this capacity, he oversees the operations of the Light Square Common Ground Dental Clinic, where essential dental services are provided to marginalized community members, free of charge, through the coordination of generous donations and volunteered time.

Mark joins Physio@439 ADELAIDE JAW CLINIC with over 35 years of experience as a physiotherapist, with 2 post graduate qualifications in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. Having held multiple positions dealing with chronic, complex, and acute compensable issues, working at the Headache Clinic with Dr Dean Watson, The Foot & Ankle Clinic, an abattoir (looking after injuries onsite), and running several businesses of his own. Dr ANDREW CHENG
Dr Andrew Cheng is a fully qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He obtained his dental and medical degrees from the University of Adelaide. He has been working in private practice since 2005 and currently is the principle owner of his own private practice in Adelaide.
He has obtained extensive experience in oral surgery, oral pathology and dental implant surgery. In 2014, he completed the comprehensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program from the Royal college of Dental Surgeons.
During his training, he has worked in the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Shanghai, and Wuhan. In 2010, he completed a clinical fellowship in the Ninth people’s hospital where he gained further experience in complex orthognathic surgery, computer assisted maxillofacial surgery, Endoscopic technique in temporomandibular joint and salivary gland pathology, Navigational Cranial-maxillofacial surgery, Facial trauma, Head and Neck oncology and Micro-reconstructive surgery. He has worked with and learned from leading surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery around the world.
He is currently a visiting Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Royal Adelaide Hospital where he is part of the head and neck Oncology group in managing oral cancer. He is actively involved in the post graduate and undergraduate training of surgical trainees, medical and dental students.
He regularly goes on overseas volunteer missions to help Cambodian orphans with their dental needs and Cambodian patients with complex Oral and Maxillofacial surgical problems.
He is friendly and approachable for both referring doctors and all patients. He is proud to be part of the medical and dental community and provide the best surgical service that he can.
Dr Cheng Chaired the ANZOMS (Australia and New Zealand Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons) from 2016 – 2023. He is part of the Medical Advisory Committee at Ashford Hospital and previously held this position at Tennyson Day Hospital.
Dr Cheng is the Director of Oral Maxillofacial training in SA and TAS and is a senior lecturer at the University of Adelaide.
Dr ANDRE BENDYK

Dr Andre Bendyk completed his specialist training in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the University of Adelaide in 2007. He is a Member of ANZAP Federal Council, Past President of the Australian Society of Periodontology, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and International College of Dentistry. He is frequently invited to give lectures and training courses to dentists and study groups around Australia and is involved in accreditation of Australian Post Graduate Training Courses. His clinical and scientific interests are in the areas of dental implantology, hard and soft tissue grafting and advanced periodontitis. Andre joined Adelaide Periodontal and Implant Professionals in 2008 and is the owner of the practice. Outside of the dentistry he enjoys tennis, surfing and spending time with his young family.
DR KELLY OLIVER
Dr Kelly Oliver is the Medical Unit Head of the Paediatric Dentistry Unit at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide. Kelly graduated as a dentist from the University of Western Australia in 2004 and as a paediatric dentist from the University of Melbourne in 2012. Post specialty training, Kelly moved to Toronto to complete a fellowship in craniofacial and special care dentistry at the Hospital for Sick Children. Loving hospital life and the Great North she stayed an additional year to become the first Paediatric Dentistry SuperFellow, using the opportunity to extend herself clinically, drive research, assist in redesigning resident dentist teaching and develop a hospital wide clinical practice guideline for oral health. Returning to Australia she returned to the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne, focusing on research with “heart kids”. In 2019 Kelly moved to Adelaide to take on her current role where she has developed the presurgical treatment programme for children with cleft lip and palate and lead her team through multiple challenges. Kelly has been the lead examiner of the Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics section for the FRACDS (GDP) examinations since 2022.
Outside of looking into little mouths Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, picking up heavy things, baking lots of bread, hiking, and being a Mum to both of her four and two legged children.
